INTRODUCTION SERIES

The field of information technology (I.T.) is huge and getting bigger everyday. Our "Is I.T. for Me?" introductory series is designed to help aspiring technologists find which path is best for them BEFORE they commit to costly training programs. Consisting of four, 90 minute sessions, students experience - hands-on - how it is to work in the selected field.

SYSTEM INFRASTRUCTURE

Students use professional tools to build and maintain an enterprise environment.

Session Activities:
  • indentify how computers work
  • configure computer networks
  • install and configure client/server operating systems

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING

Students are introduced to computer programming concepts and languages as they design and build a web-based application.

Session Activities:
  • identify different coding platforms and tools
  • establish a solid foundation for future projects
  • programming with Artificial Intelligence assistance

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Students learn the psychology, practices, and concepts of graphic design.

Session Activities:
  • creating 2D graphic images for print on various mediums (paper, shirts, computers, etc)
  • creating 3D models for print and virtual reality
  • creating custom content with A.I.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Students explore various A.I. platforms to gain a solid understanding of the technology.

Session Activities:
  • review and comparison of today's top A.I. platforms
  • prompt engineering
  • identifying and protecting against mailicious A.I.
LITERACY SERIES

From using a computer everyday to a cell phone once a year, understanding how technology works is essential to using it safely.
This in-person series ensures that people of all ages understand the basic usage of modern day technology devices.

COMPUTERS 101

Participants in this workshop learn about computers in-and-out, literaly, as they build, explore, configure, and troubleshoot real computers.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: A.I. & U

This workshop introduces participants to the many faces of A.I. Students learn how it works, how to use it's amazing power, and how to identify the misleading or malicious content it creates.

CYBERSECURITY: KEEPING YOUR INFO ON THE LOW

This workshop shows students how to identify and protect their personal information from online scammers. Participants learn how to lockdown their personal devices from attacks and how to verify the legitimacy of online content.

PRODUCTIVITY SOFTWARE: WORKING WITH COMPUTERS

This session introduces participants to freely available, professional-grade software tools used to create items from resumes to t-shirt logos.
